Mary Jane Mara & Jerry Daniels

Jerry and Mary Jane have been Daniels & Mara since they moved to Austin, Texas in 1987 and incorporated there. Daniels & Mara specialize in cross-platform development work for Mac, Web and iPad.
MJ handles the business side, does graphics, edits copy/docs, and is great at naming products. She has dual degrees in communications and fine art. Her technical writings has been published in book form by Wiley and Sons, Peachpit Press, Simon & Schuster.
Jerry's specialty is conceptual modeling. He can get to the heart of what an app needs to do faster and better than anyone. This skill allows him to do superior application design, workflow, development, and client communications.
D&M does contract software development, technical consulting and mentoring for those who wish to develop applications. In years past, Jerry has leveraged his use of LiveCode cross-platform development tools to create front-ends, middleware and high-performance back-ends. In the Summer of 2010, Jerry and MJ joined forces with Sarah Reichelt to create the Rodeo development environment for iPad, Mac and other systems using webkit browsers. They have also begun developing, consulting and mentoring in this new exciting environs. Rodeo developers use a single, HyperCard-like language to create great looking web apps. Whether using Rodeo or LiveCode, most applications D&M deliver—and help others deliver—are desktop and mobile applications possessing a high degree of internet awareness. These apps use local and cloud-based data which is entirely n-tier architected, rather than using last century's client-server 1-tier architecture. These apps are highly maintainable by clients or their staff. All coding for D&M projects follows a consistent coding standard focused on maintainability and code-as-asset viability. D&M do work for clients world-wide and are eager to help you get started or finish what you have already started. Jerry also does mentoring for desktop and mobile app developers. He also creates tools for LiveCode developers. He's a software developer with whom you can actually communicate.
